I received my M.S. in Automation Engineering in 2011 from the University of Bologna under the supervision of Professor Lorenzo Marconi. I got my Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering in 2018 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, majoring in planning and control of multiple autonomous systems, where I worked in the Advanced Controls Research Labs directed by my PhD adviser Naira Hovakimyan. Before that I spent 9 months at the TU Delft as an Erasmus student, and 2 years at the CAVR lab, Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA, as a visiting researcher under the supervision of Professors Isaac Kaminer and Vladimir Dobrokhodov. I am currently an Assistant Professor at the Mechanical Engineering department at the University of Iowa. My research interests include cooperative control of autonomous systems, collision avoidance, optimal control, machine learning, and human-centered autonomous vehicle design.
